Three key elements are dramatically improved: velocity response, note decay, and key-range behavior. Where previous sample-based technology created coarse “stair-step” gaps in velocity and key range, and unnatural looping in note decay, SuperNATURAL bridges the gaps with perfectly smooth and natural three-dimensional sound and response. Functional Style The DP-990F impresses with its sleek, modern furniture design, featuring a solid, soft-close safety lid that can be used as a music rest when opened and as a flat surface when closed. With two beautiful finishes to choose from — Medium Cherry and Satin Black — this instrument enhances any environment it’s placed in. Authentic Grand-Piano Feel The DP-990F is equipped with Roland’s acclaimed PHA II keyboard with Escapement. The keyboard yields a heavier touch in the lower range and lighter touch in the upper, providing lighter resistance for pianissimo passages and stronger resistance for fortissimo. The escapement architecture of the DP keys reproduces the characteristic “click feel” of a grand piano for the ultimate in realistic performance and expression. USB Enhanced USB compatibility opens a world of exciting add-ons and extra functionality to the DP-990F. Play along with audio files or Standard MIDI files directly from a USB key, or layer pre-recorded music from a commercially available audio CD with your performance by connecting a USB CD drive (Roland CD-01A, optional). New Twin-Piano Mode The “Twin Piano” function allows you to split the keyboard left and right into two regions, each with its own middle “C” and damper pedal.
