Miller Music was founded in Longmont, CO in 1974 by Ken Miller, and is locally owned and operated. It was a humble beginning on 5th St just off Main, and began as a lesson's studio for professional private instruction for aspiring musicians. There was a music store in town when we first opened that consigned sheet music to Miller Music so we would have something on our walls. As the lessons grew and the studio times filled up more instructors were hired. We began our retail line with used instruments, and consignment pieces. Ken would drive as far out into Wyoming, Iowa and Nebraska to find and purchase used acoustic pianos that he would then transport back to Longmont Colorado to sell in Downtown Longmont. We became a dealer of new acoustic pianos in 1978, and have steadily grown our selection from there. As technology progressed so did our selection of pianos. We are a proud certified dealer of Roland Pianos, and invite anyone who doubts the capabilities of digital pianos experience the difference. Longmont is in the National history books for being the first ever location for building to hold the JC Penny's name on it. When they moved out of Downtown Longmont in 1982, Miller Music was eager to move over and take the Main Street location. Although Miller Music has owned and operated several satellite locations from Boulder, throughout the Longmont area, and the Loveland Outlet Mall to name a few. Miller Music's base of operations at 464 Main Street, in Downtown Longmont has kept the doors open to the Northern Colorado Music Scene the entire time. Miller Music is committed to providing great customer service and education. Our experienced sales staff is always ready to help you identify what tools you need to create the sound you are looking for. Through for and professional private instructors with Miller Academy our professional musicians are available to help build the technique and skills needed to fully express your creativity. We have an in house repair shop, and we are the only music store in town that has a certified musical repair technician on staff. Our in house rental program for Middle and High school band programs is a great rent to own program that gives new and like new student instruments that have a great sound to get these new musicians off to the best musical start possible.
